Aim: How do we evaluate algebraic expressions?

 • Today we learned how to evaluate expressions. Algebraic expressions consists of one or more variables.
Vocabulary:
Variable= a letter that represents a number that can vary.
Constant= Something that doesn't change.

12x = Another way to write 12x is 12•x.
4/y= Another way to write 4/y is 4÷y
3xy/2= 3•x•y÷2

The Difference between a variable and a constant is that a variable varies and changes but a constant stays the same.
